BEWARE Recent Phishing Spam – “Egress”
There is currently an email phishing spam going around with the subject line “Confidential Document” and scary enough, it looks like a legitimate email, please do not click on the open/sign document button link. This will ask you to log into your email account which if you attempt to do, gives the attackers your sign in details to your email account.
What should I do if I clicked on the email?
- Alert D&D Support immediately, we can reset your password and get you to change it to a more secure password, we will also activate Multi-factor authentication which provides an extra layer of protection on your account.
- You should check your deleted folder for any missed recent emails, as the phishing email created a rule in your mailbox to forward all inbox emails to deleted folder and mark it as read. We will make sure these rules are deleted once we have been alerted of the attack.
- Make sure you alert all your contacts to ignore any recent emails from containing the subject “Confidential Document” to reduce the risk and spread of the attack.
Any questions don’t hesitate to call D&D support: 0330 606 2650 – Option 2 or email support@dandd.org.uk – or possibly speak to your field engineer if they are already on-site for an SLA visit.
